Music on the Labyrinth Summer Solstice Retreat

June 22, 2012 - June 24, 2012

$3 - $95.00

A Musical Labyrinth Retreat at the Ariadne Retreat Center in Georgetown, CA

Featuring the members of Mandra in a weekend of musical bliss.  Tentative schedule to include a Friday “meet and greet” potluck dinner (“meet and greet” starts at 5pm – dinner at 6pm).  After dinner a short talk and video on the Abode of Peace Labyrinth will be presented and Mandra will perform on the labyrinth for an early evening musical labyrinth walk.

Saturday will feature a early morning yoga class and a morning musical labyrinth walk followed by a late morning music workshop.  After a potluck lunch we will have three additional music workshops on drumming, didge playing and the power of song.  After a community potluck dinner we will be treated to a multi-media concert by Mandra and for night owls a special sonic bliss session will be the nightcap for the evening.

Sunday will feature a morning yoga class and a self guided labyrinth walk and we will end our activities with a community drum circle at 11:00 AM.

The full retreat cost those that want to camp out will be $95 which includes all workshops, labyrinth walks and performances, an extraordinary price for an extraordinary weekend.  This also gives you access to the fully equipped kitchen and family style potluck meals.  Locals who want to pick and choose their workshops can participate in any workshop event on a $15 donation basis.  The Saturday evening concert is $20 for those not paying for the full retreat.

There are additional packages available for those that want dorm room style accommodations and meals can be included if you don’t want to be bothered with contributing to the potluck meals.  To reserve space or check on accommodations check in with retreat owner, Rob Edwards for further information at yogaman@comcast.com or call at 530-333-2625

Learn from one of America’s most experienced didgeridoo players as he demonstrates the playing techniques and uses of this ancient and powerful instrument.  David shares his knowledge with warmth and gentle humor and makes learning the didgeridoo easy to understand.  We will also explore the therapeutic benefits of playing the didgeridoo and techniques for using this phenomenal instrument for healing. No prior musical experience is required and instruments will be provided if you do not have a didgeridoo of your own.
